Hi fabulous friends of Rest & Relish! It’s the last day of the year and I’m happy to say goodbye to 2018!
First, let me explain my lack of presence on the web and R & R social media over the last month. Our family was hit with a doozy of over a month of illness, bad weather (i.e., many days off school) and the decline and eventual loss of our beloved first dog.
We said goodbye to our 14 1/2-year-old miniature dachshund Rupert after many months of decline. The last month of his life was so difficult for him and we had to face the difficulty of laying him to rest three days before Christmas.
I’m still fairly new to the blogging world and just couldn’t keep up with taking care of my family, my ailing pup and much more all around the holidays. If I’m completely truthful, I’m still just treading water, but my head is above the line.
The moniker Rest & Relish rings true at the end of 2018. Rest, recuperate and relish the time you have with those you love. I’m not sure of what 2019 holds, but I’m hopeful to emerge from this end of year darkness with a renewed vision and hope for the coming year. Goodbye 2018!
Cheers to you and yours as you ring in 2019 (if you can remain awake that long tonight!). We will be spending time with friends, playing games and awakening to a new year filled with fresh ideas and intentions.
I look forward to connecting again in the new year via food, family and fun ideas. Please let me know if you have specific ideas you would like to see here at Rest & Relish! Lots of healthy inspiration to come….
