Musing: What to Do
Musing what to do this week? Join me in tackling one organization project each week! This past week I cleaned out and reorganized our kitchen pantry.
We have a tiny pantry for the size of our kitchen and it needs to be organized several times throughout the year for functionality. I find that labels help those who are more “organizationally challenged”.
Bins or baskets, raised shelves and chalkboard labels allow me to change things around with little effort. This week I am taking on the challenge of our mail center; another area that needs continual attention!
Musing: What to Eat

Spicy Kimchi Quinoa Bowl adapted from Simply Quinoa
Kimchi! Over the last year, I have developed a love of kimchi and am constantly musing on how I can add it to a dish. I love it with eggs in the morning and it is also great paired with vegan sausage for lunch or dinner.
I recently discovered this egg and kimchi dish from Simply Quinoa and love it!! I subbed spinach for the kale and drizzled a little Siracha before serving, but otherwise I followed the recipe. Yum!
Musing: What to Read

Jodi Picoult’s latest book Small Great Things is a book that has really stuck with me over the past few months. It is a novel that focuses on race, privilege, and implicit bias. It is a big book tackling topics that are difficult, but necessary to discuss.
Musing: What to See
I am halfway through Season 1 of The Crown and have to say how much I love Claire Foy in this role! She is able to display such a range of emotions and poise at the same time in her portrayal of Queen Elizabeth II. I hear she is leaving after Season 2, so I will especially relish all of this and next season.
All of the actors are so well cast in The Crown. Elle recently published a great read on the actors and their real life counter-parts.
Musing: What to Listen To

I am a child of the 80’s and thus grew up in the era when missing children were featured on milk cartons. I don’t know if I watched too many made-for-TV movies on missing children, but I have always had an interest in learning about missing person cases.
I am particularly interested in how we can locate missing persons and how to prevent such cases from occurring in the future. I think Marisa (not me; another woman named Marisa) does a great job in the The Vanished of presenting the facts of current, unsolved missing person cases in the hopes of finding out what happened to a missing person and where they may be. It is a podcast making a difference, as there have been a few follow-ups where the person has been located and is safe.
Musing: What to Make

Moradita. We went out to dinner this weekend and my friend ordered this drink. I had not heard of this cocktail before nor tried a cocktail with beets, but I am officially sold! I found a recipe via Saveur and plan to try it at home soon.
Musing: What to Wear

The latest foot of snow on the ground has kept me inside more than usual and wearing cozy clothing. I have had my Athleta joggers on repeat (above are a similar Athleta pant) and they transition nicely into spring. I found a cheaper pair on Amazon.
Musing: Who to Follow

We enjoyed an incredible dinner this weekend at Piedmont. The food was presented on beautifully crafted pottery created by local artisan Matt Hallyburton. I promptly followed him on Instagram, while enjoying my post-dinner coffee in his handcrafted mugs. I would love to visit his gallery soon!
